From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. To surrender in spirituality and religion means that a believer completely gives up his own will and subjects his thoughts, ideas, and deeds to the will and teachings of a higher power. The term is also used in a similar manner, in some schools and approaches to psychology, in which sense it is an antonym of hostility, signifying something akin to acceptance of one's own nature and that of the world. GNU Free Documentation License Has a life insurance company ever refused to let you surrender your policy? Q. My dad has a whole life insurance policy that he's had for years and wants to surrender and get the cash value. The insurance agent has been giving him the runaround and trying to get out of sending him the forms to surrender the policy. Is this typical and what can you do about it? Asked by chookabo_ho - Mon Dec 17 23:38:32 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. It's unethical. He's not supposed to do that, but he's preserving the sale. Tell this guy, if you don't have the forms in hand by the day after tomorrow, you're filing a complaint with your state insurance commissioner. Then do it. Q. Is it ok to surrender my car back to the bank before my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is finalized? I've already attended the hearing, I am expecting a successful Chapter 7 release soon but not sure exactly what date, I have the car listed on my Debtors Statement of Intention as "Surrender", the next car payment is due this Saturday, I don't have the money to pay it, will I jeapordize my Chapter 7 release by surrendering the car back to the bank now, should I wait until my release arrives in the mail, or does the timing of this not really make a difference? Asked by lepooche - Wed Jan 17 20:58:35 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You would not have any problems if you surrender the vehicle. As a matter of fact, if you keep the car after the payment due date, you do not have to make the payment, because the debt will be discharged. Just keep insurance on the vehicle until the creditor gets the car back. Answered by WHUFF - Wed Jan 17 23:04:14 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "surrender"
